- We need to appoint a new member/Share any ideas you might have
- Glen made a motion to appoint Kaylyn Crum to the community council, since that spot didn’t get filled by interest. No election occurred because of no candidates. Kiesha 2nd the motion. All in favor: Kiesha, Brooke, Jonathan, Alyse, Glen
- Review purpose and role of SCC
- Glen gave every a handout from the state to put in their binders regarding the SCC purpose and role. We followed that as we watched the video.

- Elect Chair/Co-Chair
- Brooke moved that we appoint Kiesha to chair our committee. Alyse 2nd the motion. All in Favor: Kiesha, Brooke, Jonathan, Alyse, Glen

- Update on School Opening/Schoolwide Behavior Plan updates
- Reviewed the installation of our automated door locking system, and the installation of our new cameras. Mentioned we will have a focus on common expectations with our PBIS school plan.

- Will be held in the same fashion as last year.
- Review budget for the year/expenditures so far
- Spreadsheet has been released to us yet, but we reviewed the budget break down for the year.

- PLC Conference for 4 teachers-would like to switch that to help pay for help in 4th and 2nd grade.

- $17,000 to help fund school counselor

- Glen sent everyone the link for this through a calendar invite.
- School Community Council Training
- Tuesday, October 8 · 6:00 – 7:00pm
- Parent/Teacher Conferences November 21st and 22nd

- Bookfair will be during conferences
- Reviewed.
- Fundraiser coming up on Oct. 25.
- We will be using Success Fund to gather donations. People will be able to use Venmo or Credit Cards.
- Reviewed and discussed. We look forward to see how it works for our school.
- Wellsville City met with our Safety committee last week.
- Wellsville City didn’t make the meeting but Glen shared what they wanted to talk about. They are interested in helping the district make parking along 500 north, 90 degree parking. Glen’s helped them make some contact with the district. The district is not opposed to this, it’s just the time line. Glen will get the city in contact with Scott Rigby, who can negotiate for the district and getting things moving along. They would also like to do angle parking on 200 West, but we’re not in favor of that idea.

- Welcome
- Gave a welcome to Kaylyn Crum, newly appointed member and Brian Chambers from our school board.
- Approve the minutes from Sept. 12, 2024 SCC meeting
- Jonathan motioned to approve the minutes, Brooke seconded the motion. Approved: Jonathan, Alyse, Kiesha Kaylyn, Brooke, Glen.
- Review District Training/any questions from that training?
- It was the same information we discussed at our last meeting.
- Review School Goal results for 2023-2024
- We were happy to see progress was made in nearly every category.
- Review School Goals for 2023-2024
- Teachers are now making grade level goals to help support these school goals.
- Review State Report Card for Wellsville Elementary
- Glen explained how this grading system works. These reports haven’t been released to the general public yet.
- Review budget for the year/expenditures so far
- Only expenditure so far has been salary, but soon there will be an expenditure for technology. We will be purchasing 8 teacher computers.
- Evening of the Arts changed to Nov. 14
- Veterans Day will be Nov. 11 at 10:00 am
- Wolf Pack Hustle fundraiser
- Kaylyn and Glen explained how it will all be working this year.
- There is a little bit of change from the last two years, including an obstacle course, eating before the running, and using Success Fund so people have an online option of donating.
- Wellsville Mile May 20
- Halloween is just around the corner- statement for parents and students:
- We know it’s a very exciting time for our students. We want them to enjoy the day, but it’s still an important academic day here at school as well. We would like to capture the best of both worlds. Students are welcome to wear a school friendly costume that complies with our dress code if they adhere to the following stipulations.
- No Masks or extremely heavy make-up that covers/obscures the head/face (No complete covering of the face with makeup. We need to be able to tell who the children are without much effort).
- No toy weapons.
- No Blood and Guts, “softer” characters, please.
- Costumes should not be so distracting that it interferes with teachers’ instruction.
- No hand-held costume accessories, they often turn into nuisance items in the classroom and on the playground.

- Council gave their nod of approval for the Halloween dress up guidelines.

- Approve October Minutes
- Kalyin made the motion to approve the minutes Alyse 2nd the motion All voted in favor to approve the minutes
- Review current Trustlands Budget. Update on purchases
- Reviewed both the Trustlands plan and the TSSA plan. For both the big expenditures have been taken care of except for para-pro’s and that of course will be spent down during the course of the year. The technology expenditure for both was we just received new teacher computers. A question was brought up about how the Constitution vote in the fall will affect us. It should means that we will be getting more money per student.
- Digital Citizenship report-Aleisa Arnold
- Aleisa reviewed what she will be teaching students for digital citizenship. Mostly that will occur after we have our internet safety assembly in February. We also reviewed the district’s handout on what they are doing for internet safety and what that looks like in our classrooms.
- Internet Safety Assembly has been scheduled for February 20
- There will be 2 assemblies, K-2 (25 minutes), 3-6 (35 minutes)
- Discussed what that will look like.
- Review and approve Rules of Order and Procedure
- After a review of the Rules of Order and Procedure Jonathan made a motion to approve them. Brooke seconded the motion. All approved.
- School Safety Report
- Reviewed what has occurred since the last safety grant. We’re still waiting on our intercom system being replaced. We talked about what that would look like. Being able to communicate between the office and the classrooms without the use of the phone is a big thing for us. Also being able to set the bell schedule on our own. We also talked about possible ideas for the next grant. One might be to add a gate to our fire lane by the car pool lane.
- PTO Fundraiser Report
- Very successful. Earned over $20,000. PTO is looking for a second gift to the school besides field trips. It has been suggested that we add some musical instruments for our music classes. Added success attributed to being able to donate online and we also had more business donations. PTO did a great job.
- PTO Evening of the Arts Nov. 14 report
- PTO felt like they had good participation. It was on a Thursday night, so we left the projections up in the gym for Friday (no preps) for classes to come through and view them.
- Science Fair Parent meeting tonight/StemFest on Jan. 22
- We have 8 community groups signed up to do hands-on activities for the kids. As a school we might do 1 or 2. That will be the most stations that we’ve had before if they all show up. Then of course the science fair projects will be on display.
- PTO Musical practices underway
- We’ve got a good group of kids working hard. Musical Performance will be March 7, 8.
- Review School goals.
- Choose 3 or 4 that would be most appropriate for School Trustlands Plan. These goals also depend on what we would like to use the money for.

- Suggested Items (The projection is that we will receive $74000)
- Para-Pro’s for Tier II Reading/Instruction/Writing/Lunchbunch (~$54,000)
- Technology ($15,000) To replace chromeboxes in the computer lab as to our technology rotation

- Technology Support ($ with anything we have left over or can adjust from salaries)

- Review current Trustland budget
- Discussed and reviewed
- Review and discuss rough draft of Trustland Plan due March 30
- includes: Reading Aides 5, No technology needs, Possible Science resource ($2000), Possible Reading program for grades 2-4 ($1800) , Netsmartz assembly. Steering Committee will work on TSSA grant application, which will include less aides because we’ll add .5 FTE help.
- Glen discussed the possible ideas, goals, resources. He explained the desire to use TSSA funds to pay for a .5 FTE for next year so we don’t drop a teacher. It was discussed. Members were asked to review the draft, check for grammar, punctuation and the numbers adding up. After a closer review if there are other suggestions please let the committee know.
- Feb 20 (tonight) Board Meeting at which our teacher of the year will be recognized, Becky Tholen.

- on going this year. No round up, but on March 6 we will be available in the evening for parents to drop off their documents for registration. This is the late night of Parent/Teacher Conferences.
- We have received about a dozen so far.

- Review current Trustland budget
- Are we on track to spend under 10% of our budget. The aide budget may get over spent. We’ll watch it close. If we need to we’ll move some aides over to TSSA. We’re definitely on track to be under 10% for both this budget and TSSA.
- School Musical Report
- The students did great. Smooth transition to new director. The HJ News did an article on it and it was the front page main article with a picture.
- Netsmartz report
- assembly held on Feb. 20 We’re considering using a different presenter that can provide us more materials to use for digital citizenship in our media classes. Also for the older kids, more examples and less partner talk with such a big group.
- Review Parent Conferences
- Everything went well. Met with 95-97% of parents. Some met after or before the scheduled conferences.
- Kindergarten Registration update
- We now have with school choice kids around 40 students.
- Kids Empowered /Cowboy Rendezvous presenters during Music Classes-report
- All the presenters did well. We did have a bump with our schedule with the Rendezvous folks. So some kids didn’t get to see them.
- Parental Input forms are now in the office and will be throughout the month of March. -explanation
- The forms are available in the office. There is an extended deadline due to the fact that there will be some teaching changes that we won’t have figured out until after Spring Break.
- 6th Grade South Cache Registration/Tour happened on March 11.
- The kids went and had a good time. They are now turning in their registration packets.
- Report on Hats Off awards
- The deadline is past. They haven’t let us know if our school had any nominations.
- Discuss/Possibly Approve Trustland Plan for 2024-2025.
- Refer to draft form of plan from last month. Kiesha brought up some wording that needed to be fixed in the plan. We discussed that and how it should be fixed. We needed to be more specific regarding the number of aides so there wasn’t any confusion on how we got the total amount needed. An adjustment was made. Kiesha moved that we approve the School Land Trust Plan for the 2025-2026 school year. Alyse seconded the motion. In Favor: Jonathan Marchant, Kiesha Baldwin, Kaylyn Crum, Alyse Woodbury, Glen Harris Not in Favor: none Brooke was absent, but let us know she also approved of the plan.
